[Special Talk] Space-Based Geolocation of Uncooperative Emitters Using Doppler Analysis
David Stupples (City Univ. of London) SANE2023-8
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Space-based geolocation of earth surface uncooperative emitters is important for military intelligence, and emergency response to disasters. Currently, we employ between 3/4 satellites in a synchronised flying formation to measure emitter signals using cross ambiguity functions (CAFs) such as time difference of arrival (TDOA). The cost of launching a formation of CAF satellites is high and out of reach for most countries. A solution is to use Doppler shift analysis of emitter signals from a single cube-sat satellite in a single pass.
