Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, wireless communication has been applied in various fields with the development and diffusion of information and communication technology. In particular, the use of GNSS-based location information has brought about significant changes in people's lives. As a result, GNSS has become a necessary technology not only for aviation and navigation but also for public facilities and homes. However, development of this technology comes security problems. For example, a passenger aircraft under guidance was intercepted by hackers when receiving GPS signals. More recently, there have also been many cases of use in electronic warfare, where drones and rescue vehicles have been rendered unusable by Russia's interference with Ukrainian GPS reception.
To solve these problems, we have focused on a technique to identify the source of false radio signals by extracting the unique characteristics of radio signals as a radio fingerprint. This study proposes a technique to reveal the source of false radio signals to determine the authenticity of GNSS signals, based on the position of the receiver and its changes, which can be regarded as a type of radio fingerprint. GNSS position fingerprinting exploits the fact that an attacker cannot precisely determine the position of a GNSS receiver. It focuses on the fact that the Doppler frequency difference between signals received from multiple GNSS satellites and multiple false signal generators at the same location and at the same time is different. This paper verifies that the Doppler frequency difference of genuine signals can be matched with the Doppler frequency difference of false signals, using the Doppler frequency difference of genuine signals as a database.
