Iterated local search for the component assignment problem of connected-(1,2)-or-(2,1)-out-of-(m,n):F lattice systems

(in English) In this study, we propose an Iterated Local Search (ILS) method for solving the component assignment problem of the connected-$(1,2)$-or-$(2,1)$-out-of-$(m,n)$:F lattice system. The ILS alternates between simple local search and random changes (kicks), enabling escape from local optima and efficient search. We compare five types of kicks and identify effective kicks by conducting computational experiments. The results show that kicks that randomly swap even-numbered rows (columns) or odd-numbered rows (columns) are more likely to reach solutions with high system reliability.
