[Poster Presentation] Improvement of QAOA for Solving TSP Efficiently

(in English) Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) is one of the most known quantum algorithms made for solving optimization problems. Combinatorial optimization problems, however, are treated as quadratic programming problems in QAOA, therefore, the number of necessary qubits increases, and because Hadamard gates are put on all qubits as initial states, the number of quantum states explodes. We propose an improved QAOA initialized by W-States and reduce $2^{n^2}$ quantum states down to $(n − 1)^{n−1}$ when dealing with Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) with n cities. We perform simulation experiments of TSP with five cities using IBM Quantum platform.
