In optical fiber transmission, in addition to wavelength dispersion, signal distortion due to the effect of fiber nonlinearity becomes prominent because of the increase in the intensity of the incident signal light caused by the improvement of frequency utilization efficiency. On the other hand, a method based on the inverse scattering transform (IST) has been proposed as a compensation scheme for waveform distortion caused by the anomalous dispersion and nonlinearity of the fiber. In this paper, we propose a nonlinear compensation scheme based on IST to compensate waveform distortion due to normal dispersion and nonlinearity, and show its effectiveness through numerical simulations. |
