Recent Progress of One and Two-dimensional Orthogonal Switching Matrices with an Arbitrary Number of Beams

(in English) This manuscript describes recent progress in 1D and 2D orthogonal switching matrices with an arbitrary number of beams. In the 1D matrices, each input port should be assigned a phase difference between adjacent output ports. For the case of four beams, the assignment that gives the best output characteristics is considered. For the waveguide 2-D matrix, a case where the number (3x3) of beams is the same in the horizaontal and vertical directions but the number of beams is not a power of two. For the waveguide 2-plane coupler, which is an important component, it is necessary to introduce a coupling ratio that is the same in the horizaontal and vertical directions but has unequal amplitudes and another coupling ratio that is different in the horizaontal and vertical directions. As an example, a two-plane coupler with a coupling ratio of 1:$sqrt{2}$ in the horizontal direction and $sqrt{2}$:1 in the vertical direction is described.
