Miss Detection Probability of NR PRACH in the Presence of CFO in Multi-Access Environments

(in English) This paper presents miss detection probability (MDP) of Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) of the 3GPP NR specifications focusing on the combining of the correlations of the repeated preamble sequences in the presence of carrier frequency offset (CFO) in multi-access environments. We show that in the presence of the CFO, the coherent combing for the mutliple correlations of the repeated PRACH preamble sequences achievces the lower MDP compared to the combining in squared form in the average received SNR of less than approximately -5 dB and vice versa in the high average received SNR region when the number of the cyclic shift (CS) resources of Zadoff-Chu sequence is almost same as the maximum number of the available CS resources. We also show that the required average received SNR satisfying the PRACH MDP of $10^{−2}$ increases by approximately 4.0 dB compared to that at the MDP of $10^{−1}$ when using the maximum number of the available CS resources.
