Analysis of pattern changes in an output light spot from an optical fiber with a PIV method (II)

(in English) When a disturbance is applied onto an optical multi-mode fiber, speckle pattern is often observed in an output light spot. In this research, image processing and analysis based on a PIV method was performed on changes in the observed speckle caused by application of disturbances onto the optical fiber. Especially in this report, emphasis is being placed on resolutions in detections of the pattern changes and statistical processing performed. As a result, for the method in this research, it was confirmed that detection resolutions can be shown only based on information obtainable from captured images for appropriately processed data. In addition, distributions of the data obtained from the PIV method were derived from a logarithmic distribution.
