Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) has been widely utilized in various research fields such as near-field radar cross section (RCS) measurement in an anechoic chamber and far-field observation of the earth's surface from a satellite. Majority of the SAR systems employ monostatic radar in which transmitting and receiving antennas are collocated. In this report, we consider more general problem of bistatic observation where transmitting and receiving antennas are located at different positions. Moreover, these antennas are considered to be scanned over an arbitrary surface such that 3-D SAR image can be reconstructed. |
