Novel digital-to-analog converter immune to asymmetric transition waveform distortion in bandpass delta-sigma modulators

(in English) In 5G and next-generation mobile communication systems, to achieve High-speed communication, massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) and carrier aggregation (CA) that use multiple transmitters have been introduced with a wideband modulation signal, which causes an increase in the size of the equipment, thereby requiring the need to reduce its size. To solve this issue, 1-bit band-pass delta-sigma modulation (1-bit BP-DSM) has focused on, which can output modulation signals directly from the digital section without using analog frequency converter and local oscillator. However, distortion due to asymmetric transition time waveforms (rising and falling waveforms) to the time axis in high-speed digital signals with a speed of several Gb/s causes a degradation of the adjacent leakage power ratio. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel 1-bit digital analog converter immune to the distortion, which causes no distortion, theoretically. We introduce the principle of their operation and the performance based on numerical calculations.
