This paper proposes Signage Cipher Modulation (SCM) as a method to embed light signals into existing video content. SCM utilizes Optical Camera Communication (OCC) which is a visible light communication technology between a light source and a camera. SCM is a technique inspired by book ciphers and stands out for its utilization of color information in video content. SCM contributes to using digital signage as a transmitter and capturing the light signals with a smartphone camera to obtain information. We report a theoretical model of SCM and the results of experimental validation using a smartphone. |
