With the increasing demand for wireless communications driven by the recent proliferation of Internet-of-Thing (IoT) devices, there is a growing need for satellite communication systems operating in high-frequency bands, unconstrained by limited frequency resources. As a result, research on Free-Space Optical (FSO) communications, a wireless transmission method utilizing optical signals in the near-infrared range, is gaining momentum. By combining FSO communications with hybrid FSO/RF Space-Air-Ground Integrated Network (SAGIN), which leverage relay transmission through high-altitude platform station(HAPS), it becomes possible to develop a satellite communications system that surpasses the speed and capacity of conventional RF satellite communication systems. This paper focuses on the application of FSO communication in hybrid FSO/RF SAGIN and proposes a model to control the transmission power of the RF link in satellites. The proposed model aims to compensate for the impact of variations in the communication environment, including changes in zenith angle and pointing errors, on FSO communication. It also strives to achieve a balance between compensating for these effects and reducing the power consumption of the overall communication system. To accomplish this, we propose a transmission power control model for the RF link in satellites. Simulations are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. |
