Design of CC/CV Output Load-Independent High-Frequency WPT System

(in English) This paper proposes a load-independent high-frequency wireless power transfer (WPT) system that achieves switching between constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) outputs, considering the charging of rechargeable batteries. In the proposed circuit, a single switch component is added on the receiver side to change the topology of the compensation circuit and combined with a load-independent class E inverter to achieve CC/CV mode switching. As a result, the switching between CC and CV modes is accomplished on the receiver side, and the class E inverter consistently achieves zero-voltage switching (ZVS) due to its load-independent operation. Consequently, wireless communication between the transmitter and receiver becomes unnecessary. By achieving ZVS in both CC and CV modes through load-independent operation, the proposed system achieves high power transfer efficiency even at high frequencies without the need for special control mechanisms. Therefore, the proposed WPT system contributes to cost reduction, system simplification, and circuit downsizing. The circuit experiments were conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed circuits.
