We propose a new fNIRS measurement system that uses proximity skin blood flow as a reference signal to improve spatial resolution and remove systemic components. Holders generally used for fNIRS measurements have transmitter and receiver probes spaced 30 mm apart so that brain activity in the cerebral cortex can be measured. We have developed a new measurement holder and data cleansing method that measures functional brain components at twice the density and simultaneously measures cutaneous blood flow, which serves as a reference signnal, at 15 mm intervals by placing another grid on one axis of the conventional grid arrangement with a 15 mm shift. In order to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed holder, we report the results of a comparison experiment with a conventional holder. |
