SAT-based Differential analysis of AEGIS Family

(in English) We evaluate the security of the AEGIS family which is authenticated encryption with an associated data scheme to achieve fast software implementation using SAT (SATisfiability) tools.
At SCIS 2022, Takeuchi et al. evaluated the security against differential attacks for the initialization phase of AEGIS to estimate the lower bounds for the number of active S-boxes byte-wise.
The evaluation has a possibility of underestimating the active S-boxes that using not exist differential path because it can't define the differential path strictly.
In this reserch, we evaluate bit-wise.
Specifically, for the initialization phase of AEGIS, we evaluate the security against differential attacks by estimating the lower bounds for the number of active S-boxes and the upper bounds for the Differential Characteristics Probability by considering the differential path in active S-boxes.
As a result, we show that the initialization phases of AEGIS-128/128L/256 are secure against differential attacks after 4/3/6, respectively.
We show the exact security of the initialization phase of AEGIS in bit units against differential attacks and estimate the upper bounds for the Differential Characteristics Probability per round for the first time.
