A Precoding Scheme to Suppress both Out-of-Band Emission and Peak Power of OFDM Signals using Trapezoidal Block Householder Reflector

(in English) The authors have proposed a trapezoidal block Householder reflector (TBHR) to represent a unitary matrix in orthonormalization efficiently. The TBHR can save storage overheads compared to the conventional compact WY representation, and derive a solution to a specific orthogonal Procrustes problem as comparable properties to the orthogonal projection and pseudo-inverse matrix. As one of the applications in the wireless communications field, this study proposes a precoding scheme to suppress out-of-band emission (OOBE) and peak power of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signals simultaneously using the TBHR. The use of the TBHR guarantees these suppressions theoretically in the sense of the orthogonal Procrustes problem. Numerical experiments confirm that the proposed method can suppress the OOBE and peak power of the OFDM signals simultaneously without error-rate degradation and with practical computational complexity.
