Algorithm for stochastic flow network interdiction problem

(in English) In this paper, we consider the network interdiction problem using the expected profit as a metric. The objective is to minimize the network flows of an evader, who aims to maximize the flows, by interdiction activities. In this study, flows are intercepted stochastically at each arc, and the expected cost is calculated by considering the penalty cost when detected. It is necessary to determine which path from the source node to the sink node in the network can most effectively maximize the expected profit considering the detection probability for an evader, and to determine which arc is the best to interdict for an interdictor.
To minimize flow, the interdiction activity is realized by increasing the detection probability of arc with a cost. Under the total interdiction cost constraint, which arcs should be selected for the interdiction activities? This paper proposes an efficient search method for optimal strategies in such situations.
