(in English) In the PON system, which is the mainstream of FTTH, there are many cases of cable disconnection from the outdoor optical splitter to the user’s home when disasters such as typhoons occur, and it is necessary to dispatch workers to the site to
restore it. During the disaster and recovery, users cannot make communications or make outgoing calls to fixed-line phones,
so it is necessary to strengthen resilience by performing emergency recovery as soon as possible. Therefore, in this research,
we propose an ONU with a wireless communication function that automatically switches to wireless communication when the cable is disconnected. An ONU with a wireless function was prototyped and evaluated.
