A study on differential modal delay control by cabling parameter of high-density cable

(in English) Space Division Multiplexing optical fiber including few-mode fiber is promising technology for expanding transmission capacity. For transmission using few-mode fiber, it is important to keep differential modal delay (DMD) small to compensate modal crosstalk by MIMO efficiently. So far, we have studied in reducing DMD by fiber curvature via parameter of high-density cable. In this paper, we show the feasibility of DMD reduction by cable parameter and investigate the cause of cabling loss characteristics.
