Mechanical characteristics of coupled multi multi-core fiber connectors

(in English) One of the candidates proposed for achieving next-generation high-capacity communication is a coupled multi-core fiber (C-MCF) transmission system. We have evaluated the optical and mechanical characteristics of uncoupled multi-core fiber (UC-MCF) connectors and confirmed that they have enough performances required for practical use. Currently, we are studying the development of new optical connectors for C-MCFs, which is an arrangement of the structure of UC-MCF connectors. In this paper, we have confirmed that C-MCF connector has enough performances that can be practically used in an optical communication network in the test for transmission with applied tensile load.
