In the next generation (Beyond-5G/6G) wireless mobile communication systems, advanced performances for high-speed data transmission, low latency, and massive connectivity are required compared to the 5G mobile system. Therefore, the fusion of wireless and optical technologies is to be a key point for mobile front-hauls between central and base stations. Besides, new use-cases for Beyond-5G/6G wireless communication services are also attracting much interest. In this paper, our recent research and development on mobile front-hauls using THz wireless and free-space optics communications are presented. |
