Ego-vehicle Speed Estimation on 3D Millimeter-wave Wave MIMO Radar using Spectrum Analysis

(in English) In this paper, we discuss a method for estimating an ego-vehicle speed using spectrum analysis with a three-dimensional (3D) millimeter wave MIMO radar.3D millimeter wave MIMO radar estimates the range, horizontal angle, elevation angle, and relative velocity of objects as power spectrum density as their peaks. We have proposed an estimation of the ego-vehicle speed and turning based on the spectral analysis using two-dimensional millimeter wave MIMO radar. We extend the method to a three-dimensional millimeter wave MIMO radar to estimate the ego-vehicle speed and perform an experiment to compare it with the results obtained from other sensors and the proposed method.
