Evaluation of Throughput Performance of Multi-Link Operation Considering Packet Length of Interfering Systems

(in English) In IEEE 802.11be, the next-generation wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) standard, new frequency bands are being considered in addition to existing frequency bands. One of the features being considered for IEEE 802.11be is a Multi-Link Operation (MLO) that uses multiple RF links simultaneously. MLO that transmits packets by multi-links with different frequency bands can improve throughput characteristics. On the other hand, since IEEE 802.11be uses an unlicensed band, radio interference from interfering systems using the same frequency band degrades its characteristics. This report proposes MLO control based on the packet length of interfering systems to reduce the influence of interfering systems. The proposed system observes the packets transmitted by the interfering system using each link and controls the number of links used according to the packet length of the interfering system. Computer simulation results show that the proposed system can improve the throughput characteristics by using more links when the packet length of the interfering system is shorter than that of the proposed system and by using fewer links when the packet length of the interfering system is longer.
