A Study on Channel Response Estimation of Neighboring Cell Terminals using SRS in 3D Spatial Cell Configuration for Mobile Communications

(in English) In a heterogeneous network (HetNet) configuration, multiple small cells are located inside a macro cell, and the same frequency is used for both the small and macro cells. To mitigate this interference, we proposed a "network cooperation interference canceller" that removes interference from neighboring macro cell and small cell terminals in the uplink. The proposed interference canceller requires the estimation of the propagation channel response from neighboring cells to perform interference cancellation. In this paper, we investigate the use of the Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) defined in 5G NR to estimate the propagation channel response from neighboring cells and evaluate the estimation accuracy.
