Estimation of sentence boundaries in texts on business performance

(in English) In order to maintain a healthy market for financial instruments, listed companies are required to disclose corporate information.
This information includes not only financial information such as sales and net income but also textual information on factors affecting business performance and risks.
In this study, we investigated the feasibility of using a state-of-the-art large language model(LLM) to estimate the sentence boundaries in the texts on business performance in order to better analyze the sentences in securities reports.
The results show that the LLM with few-shot learning can achieve the same level of accuracy as the fine-tuned BERT model with over 100 correct sentences.
