Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder
(ADHD) exhibit sensory processing such as hypersensitivity, and it is known that sensory processing are involved in the
background of behavioral characteristics and problematic symptoms. However, it is necessary to elucidate sensory processing
from a physiological perspective to address problems that cannot be solved by current support systems. In this study, we
investigated the relationship between developmental disabilities tendencies, sensory processing, and pupil response in adult
healthy subjects. The results showed a relationship between the size of the pupil response during blue stimuli and the visual score
and high threshold score of the AASP. The results suggest that the pupil response as a physiological aspect of sensory processing
is also weak in those who are aware of low sensitivity to stimuli in sensory processing.
