(in English) This paper discusses the return-loss measurement of silicone oil with a wide range of refractive indices using an MT connector-type Fabry-Perot optical sensor, which is one type of optical fiber sensors. First, he refractive index of the silicone oil used in this experiment is determined using the right-angle end face of an optical fiber. Next the return loss of four types of silicone oil with different refractive indices is measured using an MT connector-type Fabry-Perot optical sensor. Finally, the refractive index is determined from the experimental minimum reflection attenuation and compared with the calculated results.
