Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The effect of the increased number of electromagnetic disturbance sources on the setting of emission limits for radio protection is studied. As in the current CISPR limit-setting model, the basic concept of radio protection from a single disturbance source is maintained, but random variations in the disturbance strength at the location, time, and frequency of radio reception are considered by using probability factors. Assuming a two-dimensional model with a uniform distribution of sources and a predefined protection (exclusion) distance from the receiver, we compared the probability distributions of received disturbance power from the nearest source with those from the strongest source. Discussions were also made on the difference in the limit values derived from the relevant distributions of received disturbance power. The results showed that the larger attenuation of disturbance other than by distance (e.g., directivity of radiation, building effects) and the larger the source density, the limit setting based on the disturbance strength from the nearest source tend to underestimate the interference risk. To reduce the risk, it is necessary to define a limit based on the estimate of the strongest disturbance strength and/or to shorten the protection distance.
