In this paper, as an extension of conventional concentrated constant circuits, circuit equations are derived by considering retarded electromagnetic coupling. The inductance in the case of retardation is not a constant but varies continuously with time, so we propose a method to approximate the inductance in a staircase form in order to describe it in the circuit equation. Using this method, the circuit equation with delay is transformed into a neutral-type delay differential equation and analyzed. We explain how increasing the number of inductance partitions improves the accuracy of the analysis by using mode decomposition. |
