A multi bit PWM-DAC with calibration for quantum computing

(in English) We propose a structure and control method of a multi-bit PWMDAC for controlling qubits operating in a dilution refrigerator. The DAC drives capacitance and regenerates signals by switching multiple current sources with weighted slew rates. Each current source is compensated for device variations during the calibration process. Programmable control repeatedly selects bits with the smallest error for the regenerated signal based on the characteristics obtained from the calibration process, thus providing a low error conversion for conventional PWM modulation. HSPICE simulations show that the proposed circuit consumes 437.7pW at an operating temperature of 70K, and Python simulations confirm that it is capable of regenerating sine waves up to 8GHz at a sampling frequency of 16GHz.
