[Invited Lecture] Fast Beam Search for Distributed Antenna Systems in High Frequency Bands

(in English) In order to further increase the capacity of wireless communications, attention is focused on the combination of high-frequency bandwidths, which provide a wide bandwidth, and distributed antennas, which enable line-of-sight in shielded environments. High-frequency band distributed antenna systems have the problem of increasing beam search overhead due to narrow beam transmission and the increase in the number of transmission points by distributed antennas for distance attenuation compensation. This paper describes the technical challenges and the need for fast beam search of high-frequency band distributed antenna systems and introduces the results of our research on fast beam search techniques to reduce this overhead.
