In order to deal with increasing traffic demand efficiently, scalable optical cross-connects are needed. Subsystem-modular architecture has been proposed, in which small optical cross-connects are connected in parallel. Previous studies showed that networks with this architecture can be composed with the increase of 2% of inter-node fibers compared to networks with non-restricted optical cross-connects. Numerical simulations show that our proposed algorithm can design a network with subsystem-modular architecture suppressing the increase in inter-node fibers to 1.1% compared with conventional networks. |
