Comparison and analysis of communication performance of mmWave FR2 band in real environment with simulation results

(in English) To support high-bandwidth enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) services, millimeter-wave and sub-THz frequencies have been adopted in the evolution beyond 5G and 6G. This study establishes a foundational ns-3 experimental scenario for potential protocol modifications at higher or lower layers in the future. It enables a comparison between real-world environments and ns-3 simulation experiments at the TCP layer. The purpose of this study is to measure the communication quality of millimeter-wave signals in the FR2 in a shielded indoor environment and to conduct simulations using the ns-3 millimeter-wave module. The simulation results are then compared with the actual measurements to analyze the reasons for the disparities between them. The results show that these differences are closely related to factors such as the characteristics of millimeter-wave high frequency, the accuracy of the channel model, and MCS.
