(in English) This paper reviews fiber-optic-related topics presented at ECOC2023, held in Glasgow, UK, from October 1 to 5, 2023. The largest number of reports were related to space division multiplexing technology as in previous years. Especially, 2-core MCFs for submarine communications attracted much attention. In addition, reports on hollow-core fibers and fibers for amplification were also presented.
