When a reflector is placed at an appropriate distance from the vibrating radiation surface, a standing wave sound field is formed, and small lightweight objects can be levitated near the nodes of sound pressure and transported. On the other hand, since a plate-like object plays the same role as a reflector in a standing wave sound field, any changes in its position can significantly disturb the standing wave sound field, so levitating and transporting an object in a standing wave sound field is not easy. However, in a configuration where a plate-like object is sandwiched between two opposing non-planar vibrating surfaces, the finite element analysis shows that there is potential for levitation and transport in a standing wave sound field by giving a vibration phase difference excitation to the vibrating surfaces. |
