A Proposal of Illuminant Estimation Method Based on Dichromatic Reflection Model Employing Clustering and Color Lines

(in English) The color casts occur in an image affected by the illuminant. For such image, illuminant estimation method based on dichromatic reflection model has been proposed to remove color casts. However, the conventional methods have a problem of insufficient removal of color casts in where the regions of input image are unaffected by the illuminant color. In this report, we propose an illuminant estimation method based on dichromatic reflection model employing clustering and Color Lines. In the proposed method, the specular reflection is classified by using the clustering algorithm. The illuminant color is estimated by using the Color Lines. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through the experiments using various color images.
