Immunity Evaluation Method of Communication ICs for In-Vehicle CAN-FD

(in English) It is a well-known fact that a lot of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and high-speed communication Local Area Networks (LANs) are necessary for Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Original equipment manufacturers (OEM) are interested in introducing CAN-FD on vehicles for its high data rate. Thereby, CAN-FD is being studied in-vehicle as a replacement for CAN. It is expected that many vehicle manufacturers will inherit the conventional CAN components and design policies such as communication lines and ECU design requirements. Accordingly, it is important to determine the immunity performance of the transceiver ICs. In this study, we examined the use of the DPI test, which is an immunity test for semiconductors. Focusing on the fact that the main source of error during the BCI test is differential noise, and the method is used to select transceiver ICs by generating equivalent differential noise in the DPI test.
