[Poster Presentation] Improved numerical simulation for a birefringent twister

(in English) A twisting interferometer introduces mutually orthogonal minute deviations in the position and propagation direction of an optical beam and its duplicate, and superposes them with relative phase $pi$ to form the output beam. In the birefringent twister, the deviations are introduced by a birefringent medium and a cylindrical lens. In this paper, we perform a numerical simulation of the twisting interferometer and compare the simulation output with a first-order analytical formula. Simulation is also performed for cases where the cylindrical lens is rotated from optimal angle, and fidelity with first-order formula for optimal angle is calculated to show relationship between input mode number and the tolerance for lens angle.
