Quantum emitters coupled to optical fibers are essential for the realization of quantum networks, with emitters coupled to the evanescent field of nano-optical fibers have attracting particular attention in recent years. However, in order to achieve maximum coupling to the fiber, the emitter must be placed at a position with exactly the right fiber diameter. Because both the fiber and the emitter are nano-sized, this is a difficult task. In this study, we developed a method to trap quantum dots together with gold nanoparticles on a tapered fiber. The position and diameter at which trapping of the quantum dots occurred could be controlled by tuning the optical power. This can be used to automatically trap the emitter at the position on the fiber where the diameter is optimal for coupling, eliminating the need for deposition of the quantum dots at the correct position. |
