This paper discusses a Windowed Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system that can suppress out-of-band emission (OOBE) by multiplying a window function in time domain. In this scheme, the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance is degraded since the effective symbol is warped by the window function. Therefore, the pre-coding using the Walsh-Hadamard transform and the pseudo-random noise code multiplication are applied in the modulation and demodulation of the Windowed OFDM system to improve the performance under frequency selective fading environments. In this paper, performances of the proposed system are evaluated by the experiment in the metal enclosure box using a Software Defined Radio (SDR) device. The results show that the BER performances of the Pre-coded Windowed OFDM are improved to adopt the proposed pre-coding technique. In addition, improvement of the BER is also confirmed in the box, assuming the multipath-poor environment made with radiation-absorbent material. |
