We proposed a Kriging method to improve interpolation accuracy by giving anisotropy to the spatial correlation function in the plane of distance and azimuth angle based on the base station position. Using 2.2 GHz band path loss data measured in an urban area, we evaluated the estimation accuracy when interpolating the total measurement data of approximately 14,000 points from sample data of 10 and 100 points. We compared the proposed method with four conventional methods: nearest neighbor interpolation, K-nearest neighbors, inverse distance weighting, and ordinary kriging. The median and minimum values of RMSE when sample data is extracted 30 times are approximately 8.2 dB and 4.7 dB when the number of samples is 10, and approximately 6.4 dB and 4.2 dB when the number of samples is 100. It was shown that the proposed method can interpolate with highest accuracy of any conventional method. |
