In this paper, we propose a parametric execution time analysis method for real-time software reuse. When reusing software with real-time constraints in different execution environments, it is desirable to have an optimal design support method that ensures that the program satisfies a given real-time constraint in the execution environment of the reused environment. In the proposed method, to satisfy the real-time constraint, the program execution time is derived in the form of a polynomial including the loop count parameters using the actual measured execution time of each basic block of the program. The execution time may be adjustable by adjusting the loop count parameter and can be optimized to the extent that the real-time constraints are satisfied by using mathematical optimization. The use of measured execution times also addresses cases where it is difficult to obtain post-compilation machine code, which has not been the target of analysis in the previous studies. In addition, to handle nested loops, which have been difficult to handle in the previous studies, a function is defined to automatically map the actual number of loops to the loop count parameter. An example application to a simple self-location estimation program is also shown. |
