Detection Probability of RPACH for UE with High-Speed Movement in NR Uplink

(in English) This paper presents miss detection probability (MDP) of Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) with a short sequence for a user equipment (UE) with high-speed movement in New Radio (NR) uplink. We assume that the frequency of a UE local oscillator is synchronized with the accurate downlink frequency from a base station, Computer simulation results show although the coherent combining of the NRP correlations corresponding to the number of repeated preamble sequences decreases the PRACH MDP compared to the power domain combining for a UE with low mobility, the PRACH MDP increases according to the increase in the moving speed of a UE, v. By contrast, we show that the power domain combining of the NRP correlations can decrease the PRACH MDP according to the increase in the v value due to the time diversity effect among the NRP correlations. Accordingly, when the moving speed of a UE is 300km/h, by using the power domain combining, the PRACH MDP of 10−2 is achieved at the average received SNR of -3.8dB and -6.3dB for Formats A1 and A3, respectively, in TDL-C channel models.
