[Invited Talk] Malicious social bot detection on social networks based on graph signal processing
Satoshi Furutani (NTT) IN2023-55
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Social media have been deeply blended into our lives as a major platform to gather information, disseminate information, and interact with people.
However, some malicious users systematically operate a large number of bot accounts to conduct various malicious activities such as spreading spam and false information, threatening our safe and healthy use of social media.
There are many studies on detecting malicious social bots, among which approaches based on the relationships (graph structure) between users in social networks are promising.
However, most of these detection methods have only been experimentally compared and evaluated in terms of their performance and noise robustness, and thus theoretical understanding is still lacking.
In this talk, I will present the author's previous work on a unified interpretation of existing representative graph-based malicious social bot detection methods within the framework of low-pass filtering of graph signal processing.
