Attention disorder causes distractibility, a tendency to shift attention to other stimuli, and an inability to focus on one thing at a time. Attention disorders can interfere with daily life because attention is the basis for cognitive functions such as memory, language, and perception. The Trail Making Test (TMT) is a widely known method for evaluating attentional function. While the TMT is a simple test using only paper and pencil, it has three problems: (1) The subject cannot perform the test alone, which means that an examiner is needed. (2) The examiner uses a stopwatch or similar device to measure time, which makes the measurements inaccurate. (3) The tests are monotonous and difficult to perform continuously. This study proposes an attentional function rehabilitation system using TMT with the Leap Motion Controller (LMC) device. The proposed system does not use paper and pencil but uses a PC and the LMC to perform the examination. While conventional testing requires an examiner, the proposed system has the advantage that it can be performed anywhere by one person at any time. Then, we conducted a questionnaire regarding the usability of the development system. Then, when we conducted a questionnaire regarding the usability of the development system, some respondents said it was fun because it could be conducted like a game. However, most respondents indicated that the paper version was more accessible to work with. |
