(in English) We are developing a remote antenna system that can be connected and operated only by optical fiber using RoF (Radio on fiber) and PoF (Power over Fiber) techniques. This system integrates optical fiber and wireless communications to realize a seamless network, and also utilizes optical fibers for energy transmission.
The proposed method can connect remote antennas while providing electrical insulation using optical fiber and is less influenced by surge currents. In this paper, we introduce an optical fiber antenna feeding system developed for application to microwave wireless power transmission equipment used in electric utilities and report the results of a surge test on an optical fiber-connected remote antenna. In addition, the we introduce the TOWER LINK (Transmission tower based Optical and Wireless Extremely Reliable Link) concept, which is our proposed concept for highly reliable seamless communication network.
