Human Body Communication/2.4 GHz Wireless Communication Dual-use Wearable Antenna for WBAN

(in English) This paper proposes a wearable antenna capable of dual-operation at 21 MHz for Human Body Communication (HBC) and at 2.4 GHz for Narrow Band Wireless Communication (NBWC), designed for Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN). The proposed antenna integrates an HBC electrode with a microstrip patch antenna, achieving miniaturization and a reduction in the count of high-frequency components. Electromagnetic field analysis using a multilayer arm model has evaluated reflection characteristics, radiation efficiency, electric field distribution, radiation patterns, and biocompatibility, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed antenna.
