[Encouragement Talk] An Evaluation of Routing Algorithm Consideration Data Importance Based on Combination of SDN and DTN

(in English) Resident information stored in public organizations such as city halls and medical information stored in medical facilities are periodically stored on local servers in the same facilities or on cloud servers in remote locations. However, when a major disaster such as the Great East Japan Earthquake occurs, data stored on local servers are lost due to failures caused by secondary disasters such as tsunamis, etc. Data on cloud servers are not lost, but necessary data cannot be retrieved in the disaster area due to the disruption of wide-area networks. To solve these problems, risk-aware data replication (RDR) has been proposed, in which data is stored on a secure server in the same city or other nearby locations. In these proposals, replicated data is classified by importance and replicated through different paths. However, when duplicate paths occur during data transmission, the throughput is reduced. In this paper, we focus on the Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) algorithm to solve this problem. We propose a dynamic routing control method by using SDN and DTN. This method increases the amount of data replicated by storing less important data in the DTN server and preventing duplication of routes when duplication occurs.
