A Study on Cashing and Routing Strategies with Direction of Vehicle etc. in Vehicular Contents Centric Networking

(in English) Recently, the use of ICN (Information Centric Networking) for vehicular networks has attracted much attention. ICN is a new content-oriented network that focuses on what is being exchanged, not where the information is being exchanged. The implementation of vehicle networks utilizing NDN (Named Data Networking), a type of ICN, poses the challenges of delay due to extra communication overhead and the development of optimal caching strategies. In this study, we investigate routing and caching strategies. The routing strategy limits packet reception based on information about the vehicle's direction of travel. The caching strategy determines whether a content needs to be cached based on popularity, freshness, and redundancy. In order to verify the usefulness of these strategies when combined, we implemented these strategies on a simulator and evaluated its performance.
