| (in English) | As a measure against malware infecting routers, we are studying metabolic routers. This router can delete even undetectable malware by substantial initialization without interruption of packet forwarding. However, in this simple initialization, dynamic routing information in the router is lost. As a result, packet forwarding is interrupted. To solve this problem, we have been studying a route inheritance scheme using a route server. In this scheme, a route server in a metabolic router manages dynamic routing information and sets it to the routers. This scheme can prevent packet forwarding interruptions. This paper evaluates its scheme through experiments. The results are as follows: (1) Packet loss due to router initialization was extinct by inheriting dynamic routing information. (2) The tampered routes by malware are recovered by initializing the router. These results show that our proposed scheme reduces the damage caused by malware infection to routers without packet forwarding interruption. | |
